It's going to be 100 degrees today...what do you think we should do? Hhmmmmm, I know, let's go for an hour long ride in a really old un-aircondtioned train! The train was actually really interesting. It ran from Sunol to Niles (it's actually part of Fremont), and back, on the Niles Canyon Railway. We rode in a 1949 car for the first half of the trip and a 1911 car for the second half. The conductor provided a fact filled tour, while the vinyl seats provided buckets of sweat!
When we got back to our car, it said it was 103 degrees, and we parked in the shade!

Oh wow, did your boys just love that train ride??? My son was nuts for trains when he was smaller.
My gosh...I can't imagine what that heat must be like!
The boys did have fun, but I think an hour ride was a bit too long. Towards the end, Jayson got grumpy and Kyle fell asleep.
Fun blog...I just clicked over from The Mom Blogs. My in-laws live in Fremont and we've visited a few times. Your kids are adorable and I love your efforts in being domestic. It's something I'm working on but still have a long ways to go! :)
